Recognition from Hearing

Points and the necessary support for initiatives that lead to the improvement of sustainability of SMEs with close ties to the community

• Oshima Industry Co., Ltd. has the advantage that the staff including the management layer is young. The younger the age group, the less likely it is to have biased views on businesses that are taking on recycling and environmental issues. Reorganization of the business linked to SDGs will be reexamined from the perspective of sustainability, and public relations materials such as reports and pamphlets will be used to further strengthen the ability to disseminate information to the public.

• Due to the recent increase in natural disasters and other factors, the numbers of cases in which other plants discontinue use of their incinerators are increasing, and it seems Oshima Industry Co., Ltd. is becoming increasingly busy. In considering new business development and future development of existing business that is easier to use, a framework for support from the viewpoint of market research is required.

Linkage with the SDGs

Oshima Industrial Co., Ltd.’s business, which includes environmental considerations and contribution to the community, including initiatives to systemize food recycling through feed production from food residues and the creation of forests together with local people in areas where final treatment plants are located, is an initiative that contributes to the achievement of SDGs goals 5, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, and 17.
